For many of you reading this, you know all too painfully well that DIETS DONT WORK for long term weight loss.

They don't work for several reasons;

  1. Diets only target one piece of the weight loss puzzle.
  2. People get quickly bored with strictly counting calories.
  3. Feelings of deprivation tend to trigger bounce back overeating, with the result that the weight quickly comes back on.

  

IF PSYCHOLOGICAL REASONS FOR OVEREATING ARE NOT ADDRESSED, IT IS UNLIKELY THAT THE WEIGHT WILL STAY OFF IN THE LONG TERM.

If eating is out of control, food can become an addiction just like any other addictive behaviour (e. alcohol,drugs gambling etc.)

Many of you can relate to how many diets you have started, failed, hated, and started again, only to feel driven to eat compulsively again.

The NUMBER 1 reason any addiction occurs, and why people eat when they are not hungry, is to fill an emotional emptiness.  Eating can be used to cover emotions such as anger, loneliness, anxiety, hurt etc. and no amount of eating can fill this emotional void.

  

YOU CAN EXPERIENCE SUCCESS BY ADDRESSING THE EMOTIONAL FACTORS AND BLOCKS THAT PREVENT YOU FROM REACHING YOUR DESIRED WEIGHT.

  

My weight loss programme does just that - addresses the cause rather than just the symptoms of overeating.

Together we decide on an individual programme that works best for you.

This may include any of the following:

  1. Target and eliminate the underlying need or emotional factors that are fuelling eating.
  2. Explore and neutralise any relevant past issues that may be attached to childhood traumas.
  3. Change unconscious and sometimes irrational beliefs about food and weight.
  4. Address any negative body image (or self esteem issues) that contribute to a weight problem.
  5. Reduce immediate food cravings and obsessions.
  6. Target future situations that may trigger overeating.
  7. Learn to manage daily stress in more comfortable ways.
  8. Increase motivation for moderate eating and increased exercise.

  

You may only need to lose a few kilos, and find that two sessions of positive suggestions is all you need.

Or you may prefer a more comprehensive 4-6 week programme that addresses your particular obstacles to weight loss.
